Based in Malang, Indonesia, Clay Game Studio is a young indie studio that has made a name for itself with its art direction and animation. Although the team is small, it displays a clear ambition: to produce expressive, warm, readable games, often in service of a carefully crafted visual identity. Clay notably made waves with Fiire Afterlight, a pastel metroidvania, before turning to something more narrative and atmospheric with a new project, Mirth Island, a cosy adventure game centered on music. This project, with a look somewhere between papier-mâché and baroque music, confirms this desire to offer accessible, polished experiences where game feel, characters and world take precedence over the game system.
