Sunborn Network Technology, founded in 2015 and based in Shanghai, is an independent Chinese video game development studio operating under the name MICA Team, with about 700 employees. The studio has gradually established itself as a leading player in the mobile and PC market. Its major game Girls' Frontline, first launched in 2016 in mainland China before a worldwide release in 2017-2018, forged Sunborn's reputation in the tactical strategy game genre. The studio subsequently diversified its portfolio with spin-offs such as Girls' Frontline: Neural Cloud and Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium. Tencent took a strategic 20% stake in the company in 2021, and since then Sunborn has continued to explore new genres and new platforms, consolidating its status as an active developer in the Asian market.
