PlaySide Studios, an independent video game studio based in Melbourne (Australia) and created in 2007, is recognized as a major player in the video game field. It has built a reputation as a specialist in mobile ports and family games, having often hit the mark with its adaptations of titles such as Friday Night Funkin' or Stardew Valley on consoles. Through the publishing of games via PlaySide Publishing, the studio wants, in a way, to diversify its catalog and offer an alternative to overly safe projects.
Mouse: P.I. For Hire, a black-and-white retro FPS published for Fumi Games, is the first step in a shift towards a 1930s cartoon style, due for release on April 16, 2026. A physical Mouseburg Edition will be released in July, proof of a growing interest in physical and collector's projects.
