Paradox Interactive

Paradox Interactive is a Swedish video game development and publishing company founded in 1999 and based in Stockholm. The company specializes in deep, complex strategy games, particularly grand strategy games offering rich historical and political simulation experiences on PC.

Paradox is behind "Crusader Kings" (a series developed since 2004), a medieval strategy game centered on dynasties; "Europa Universalis" (since 2000), covering the modern era of world history; and "Hearts of Iron" (since 2002), focused on World War II. The company also develops "Stellaris" (2016), their first foray into 4X space strategy.
