Haunted Chocolatier

Eric Barone's, aka ConcernedApe's, second game, announced in October 2021 and still without a release date. The player runs a chocolate shop set up in a haunted castle: gathering ingredients, crafting confections, running the shop, and building relationships with the neighboring town's residents.

The kinship with Stardew Valley is obvious — the same pixel art, the same seasonal rhythm, the same fondness for characters you get to know over the weeks. The difference lies in the darker setting and an added action component: you head out to gather ingredients in areas swarming with enemies, weapon in hand. Barone is developing it alone, as he did with Stardew Valley, and refuses to give a release date until the game is ready.
