The Dark Pictures Anthology

The Dark Pictures Anthology refers to a series of standalone narrative horror video games, designed by Supermassive Games and distributed by Bandai Namco. Started in 2019 with Man of Medan, this collection of games draws its inspiration from classic horror film works, as well as from films such as those making up the Twilight Zone series, but also from horror anthologies.

The first installment, Man of Medan, plunges us into the South Pacific with a group of tourists terrorized in a disturbing nightmare, haunted by vengeful ghosts. The plot of Little Hope (2020) returns to a story of nightmares experienced by college students in the desolate town of a small settlement condemned by a puritanical past shrouded in fog. House of Ashes (2021) ventures into a contemporary war narrative in ancient Mesopotamia, where American and Iraqi soldiers unleash vampiric horror in buried temples. Finally, The Devil in Me (2022) offers a reinterpretation of the crimes of H. H. Holmes, set in a death hotel that blends reality and macabre illusion.
