Raji

Born under the auspices of the independent Indian studio Nodding Heads Games, the Raji franchise is one of the rare action-adventure games whose narrative engine draws from the myths and aesthetics of India. With Raji: An Ancient Epic, the first installment, the saga follows the fate of Raji, a young acrobat chosen by the gods to face an invasion of demons and rescue her brother, Darsh. With Raji: Kaliyuga, the series changes format and scale. Six years after the great war, the narrative shifts toward a cosmic crisis as the asura lord Mahabalasura unlocks the gates of heaven and the era of Kaliyuga looms as one where the virtue of a single act can lead to the destruction of the universe. The gameplay shifts from an isometric view to a TPS view, with more intense combat, siddhi powers for Darsh and martial acrobatic moves with the trishula for Raji. The Raji saga confidently asserts its Indian roots while embracing AAA conventions, standing as a unique promise in the action-adventure landscape.
