Series by Running With Scissors launched in 1997, remembered as much for the controversies it sparked as for its humour. POSTAL 2, in 2003, set the formula: a week in the small town of Paradise, a mundane to-do list, and total freedom to carry it out as a model citizen or to let everything go off the rails. The franchise has survived four main installments and three decades without ever changing owners.
