Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical multiplayer horror franchise designed by Behaviour Interactive and launched in 2016 on PC, then on consoles. At the heart of the concept are 4 versus 1 matches: on one side, a player controls an unstoppable killer, on the other, four survivors try to repair generators to escape an enclosed hunting ground, all while living under the threat of a hook that would sacrifice them. Over the years, the franchise has pleasantly taken the shape of a real museum of horror pop culture, piling up original chapters and collaborations in the form of DLC featuring characters following a "mash-up" model. Over time, the franchise has expanded into other formats - a board game adaptation has even been made, reusing the model of the duel between killer and survivors on asymmetrical objectives.
