Moonmilk Games is a studio based in Gothenburg, Sweden, founded by practicing cavers who decided to transpose their underground passion into video games. Co-founder Martin Calander presents the team as being made up of real cave explorers, a rare singularity in the industry that directly infuses the studio's design.
Their flagship project, Cave Expedition, is a speleological exploration game playable solo or in co-op with up to four players. The studio claims to have done concrete fieldwork: ropes, narrow passages and flooded caves are modeled after their own expeditions, and both the textures and soundscapes were recorded directly underground.
No dedicated publisher is mentioned at this stage; the studio appears to be self-publishing via its Steam page. Moonmilk Games remains a young and publicly under-documented structure, but its niche positioning - realistic speleology as a gameplay driver - clearly sets it apart from the more generic exploration productions of the indie market.
