The Keepsake Sea: Disney Dreamlight Valley's pirate DLC reveals itself (a little)

Disney Dreamlight Valley is about to receive its fourth major expansion, The Keepsake Sea. A DLC centered on the oceans, with Jack Sparrow taking top billing and a clear promise: to have you dive, quite literally, into a new facet of the game.

The teaser released shows the player swimming underwater transformed into a mermaid, which appears to be the central mechanic of this expansion. It's the kind of addition that, historically, has lastingly redefined the gameplay loop - somewhat like riding mounts did with Wishblossom Ranch. Alongside that, the usual format is expected: four to five new characters, a big villain to carry the story (Davy Jones or Captain Hook would make sense given the theme), a new biome with several regions, new aquatic Companions (seahorses, seals, sharks) and a substantial batch of items, furniture, ingredients, and outfits.

On paper, then, this isn't just a simple cosmetic pack. The transformation into a mermaid potentially opens up an entirely new play space - the ocean depths - which brings this expansion closer to a genuine additional chapter rather than a surface-level makeover, in keeping with what Gameloft has been offering since previous major expansions.
