Le TPS (Third Person Shooter), ou jeu de tir à la troisième personne, propose une vue caméra située derrière le personnage permettant d'apprécier l'ensemble du champ de bataille. Conjuguant action intense et stratégie tactique, le genre permet au joueur de mieux lire les espaces et d'appréhender l'environnement que dans un FPS. Voici quelques classiques du genre : - "Gears of War", référence par excellence du genre, avec son système de couverture innovant et son ambiance sombre, qui a accueilli un reboot en 2025 - "The Last of Us" chef-d'œuvre narratif mêlant survivance, infiltration et combats nerveux. - "Uncharted", série référence qui mélange habilement exploration, énigmes et gunfights façon film d'aventure.
